I honestly don’t get the whole gender dysphoria thing. It just doesn’t make sense to me how you can say you’re a boy while still having a vagina. Of course, I can’t actually say this out loud without being told to ‘check my cis privilege’. It would be nice if some of the trans* community could stop shouting at the cis community long enough to realize that most of us don’t even know what the big deal is.
hhahha h
ha ha hahahahhahha
hha a ahhahhah this fucking blog i swear
hahahhh
ha haaa
oh trust me
we have realized most of you don’t even know what the big deal is
we
have
realized
hey maybe
instead of telling us to quit shouting
you could shut the fuck up and listen!!

^ A post about body dysphoria in response to this because I think it should be reblogged too.
I do understand gender dysphoria. But I think people should be able to talk about it without being told they are a privileged oppressive cis. Same goes with things like race, gender, religion and sexuality.
We should be able to have conversations about this kind of stuff without one group simply labeling the other as privileged. If they aren’t preaching hate at trans people they shouldn’t be talked down to like that.
Also Helena, fabulous article!
P.S. there are trans people out there who experience privilege. There is no person devoid of all privilege, that person just doesn’t exist, so we should be more careful when labeling people as privileged, because you are too. Just some thoughts.
Everyone who is trans knows this, even if it does not feel like it when you are constantly dealing with cissexist bullshit. Nobody says “everyone is privileged over me in every way.” What people do say is “regarding this one area (or this group of areas) you are privileged by society, and thus don’t know what you are talking about regarding the experiences of marginalized people, and thus you should shut up and listen to people who do have those experiences rather than going on about how weird and wrong they are and how you don’t understand them.” (If you want to understand, then listen. If you don’t, then GTFO.)
Conversations where privileged people bitch about how they don’t understand some marginalized group and don’t want to make any effort to understand simply are not worth having, and it is not remotely a problem when people who are sick of them shout them down.
If this is a really fucking stupid idea I will apologise.
What if one were to take the genderqueer symbol (left) and put the fist (from right) in the middle and used as a symbol representing being angry and queer? Maybe riot qrrrl? I like the badassery aspect of riot grrrl but it’s cissexist and is supported by some radscum. I dunno I just thought maybe it could be a thing.
There is a feminist-fist graffiti at my school, beside a stencil of a vulva. I have always wanted to complete the symbol in the way mentioned, since obviously that junk configuration does not belong to any one gender.

People are butts about gender sometimes! So here is a comic talking about how it really isn’t a big deal!

i have rarely loved a post this much.
fuck.yes.
Although the top one was just making a personal decision not to send her nudes to someone, and was not judging anyone else, I still like this.
I would argue that the top picture was judging other people. When you say “I have morals” in regards to your personal choice to not post topless you assume that those who do send nudes are not moral. Sometimes you can’t just take something at face value. This reeks of judgements of bodes with tits.
Actually “morals” refers to a personal choice
Where as “ethics” refers to the general standards of human behaviour and what is considered “correct”
So by using “morals” instead of “ethics” she made it subjective and it for her is a personal standpoint. Of course I do not know whether or not she was aware of this distinction and payed any attention to it.
Actually, no. Ethics is the philosophy of morality. The difference you are referring to is between descriptive and normative systems of ethics, each of which calls the values within them “morals.”
Furthermore, the statement, “I have morals,” in the context of refusing to show one’s breasts is meant to heavily imply that a person who would show their breasts does not have morals. Otherwise it would be a nonsensical statement. A person not having morals in the descriptive sense is an absurdity. Therefore the person in the upper photo’s moral views must be based on a normative ethical system, and she’s an ass.
